Comedy fans can catch double Edinburgh Comedy Award winner and Taskmaster favourite John Kearns when he brings his new show Tilting at Windmills to The Theatre Chipping Norton on Wednesday 11 February 2026. This latest hour of stand-up offers a delightfully offbeat, meandering look at life as a 38-year-old man, full of half-read books, modern anxieties and throwaway obsessions – all delivered in Kearns’ unmistakably skewed style.

If you enjoy comedy that is a little odd, very human and properly funny, Tilting at Windmills promises a brilliantly off-centre night out in Chippy.

Angry Boater
Saturday 21 February 2026
The Corn Exchange, Market Square, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 6AB
Swap dry land for life on the water – at least for an evening as Angry Boater docks at The Corn Exchange, Witney, on Saturday 21 February 2026. Joel Sanders, the charismatic star of Channel 4’s Narrow Escapes, brings his remarkable story from the glitz of Las Vegas to the calm (and not-so-calm) chaos of narrowboat living. Once a stand-up regular in casinos, theatres and rowdy bars across all 50 US states – sharing stages with comedy greats including the late Robin Williams, Joel walked away from the bright lights after a pivotal night in Tennessee and bought a narrowboat. Nearly two decades later, he is still afloat and has plenty to say about it.

Joel’s observations on everything from canal mishaps to everyday absurdities are delivered with razor wit, energy and an easy connection with the audience. Fans of Narrow Escapes can relive some of his most memorable on-screen adventures from mad dashes between gigs to perilous night journeys – while newcomers will discover one of the most distinctive and entertaining voices on the circuit.
