Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1669, the Sheldonian Theatre is the ceremonial Hall of the University of Oxford. This stunning Grade I listed theatre seats up to 750 guests and its unique shape provides a welcoming and intimate feel. It can be hired for a variety of functions including concerts of up to 750 people, drinks receptions for 200 guests, day meetings for 80 guests, award ceremonies, filming and lectures. Used in conjunction with our sister venue, the Examination Schools, it can be used for opening and closing sessions as part of a large conference of up to 650 guests.
